Privacy Policy

TeslaCam Pro · Effective November 3, 2026

In short: TeslaCam Pro doesn't collect your data. We have no servers and no accounts. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking. Your footage is read directly from your USB drive or device and is processed on your device. It only leaves when you choose to export or share it.

This policy explains what information TeslaCam Pro (the "app") handles on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and how. The app is made by HomebrewBytes LLC ("we", "us").

Information we collect

None. We don't operate servers for the app and don't receive any of your footage, location, vehicle data, personal information or usage data. We don't sell, rent or share personal information, because we don't have any.

Your footage and vehicle data

The app reads dashcam and Sentry Mode videos from the folder you choose, usually the USB drive from your car. These videos can contain the vehicle data your car records with them: speed, gear, driver-assist status, pedal and steering input, turn signals, acceleration and GPS position. The app reads this data to show overlays, timelines and maps, on your device only.

Information the app stores on your device

This information stays on your device and isn't synced to iCloud.

Maps and addresses (Apple)

Maps in the app are provided by Apple Maps. To draw a map, your device requests map images from Apple for the area being shown. When you create an incident report, the app asks Apple's geocoding service to turn the incident's coordinates into a street address, and generates a map image through Apple. These requests go directly from your device to Apple; we never see them. Apple's privacy policy applies, and Apple states that Maps data isn't associated with your Apple Account.

Photos

If you choose Save to Photos, the app asks for permission to add to your photo library. It can only add the videos and images you save. It can't see, read or change anything else in your library. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.

Exports and sharing

When you export a video, share a snapshot or share an incident report, the file goes only where you choose in the share sheet, such as AirDrop, Mail, Messages or Files. Incident reports contain the details you entered and data from your footage, including location; review them before sending.

Purchases

The TeslaCam Pro purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app only receives confirmation of what you've bought, so it can unlock the paid features. We don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases.

No advertising, analytics or tracking

The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software. It doesn't track you across other apps or websites, and doesn't use your data to build profiles.

Deleting your data

The footage on your car's USB drive is never touched by the app; manage it on the car or the drive itself.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't knowingly collect any from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA may give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction and deletion. Because your data stays on your device, you can use these rights directly as described above. If you have questions, contact us.

Security

Data is protected by Apple's built-in device encryption. On Mac, the app runs in Apple's App Sandbox and can only open the folders you choose.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
